I got my printer back in august, but it has been one long series of frustration. Most of it is likely due to my newbie-ness. After a long series of issues, i put it on the shelf for a few.
It seems I've always had an issue with it getting too hot. The original control board the kit came with was faulty from the start. I sent that back and it took almost a month to get the replacement board from China. I made a mistake and blew that one up, so I decided to buy something closer to home.
I settled on the Mini-Rambo. I don't recall what my issues where when I finally put it on the shelf before I threw it out the window.
I've got everything back up and going now. the motors move everything the way they are supposed to.
Whenever I try a print, whether it is from Repetier or the SD card, it starts heating up the hotend and steadily climbs until it hits max temp error.
I just did preheat pla and the display says 230 (it's only supposed to go to 180), but the temp on my multimeter reads 98c.
I thought maybe the thermistor was the issue, so I bought a new one just so I could know exactly what I had. I set the TEMP_SENSOR value to 11 as the manufacturer indicated.
When the printer is cooled down completely, the reading on the lcd is 25c my multimeter is reading 21c as the ambient temp, and the reading on the hot end is 21c.
I'm measuring the temp on the hot end where the cylinder goes through the aluminum block.
The resistance on the thermistor is 101.9 at ambient temp.
resistance on extruder is 4.5-5.
I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'd really like to see this thing print something.
