Hello,
II am having issues with the motors and after diligently searching for an answer and giving many solutions a try, I have not been able to fixed the issue. I am using an Arduino Mega 2560 with a Ramps 1.4 board on top of it.
ISSUE:
I have not be able to successfully get the motors(SHINANO-KENSHI STP-42D2082 1.8 degrees / step 3.9 Ohm Lfa) to respond correctly while using the Pronterface Software. They do move, but move in a sporadic manner, doing anything from just humming, to bouncing back and forth rapidly, to spinning wildly. I have uploaded the most recent version of both the Marlin and Sprinter firmware for the Arduino, but I am not ruling out that this is a firmware issue. I have tried switching the way the motors are connected to the board, but the behavior is exactly the same either way. With the Honeywell V15T16-cz300A06-K switches I wasn't sure which connection was the NC and which was the C, but I tried every combination and even tried to remove the end stop connection with no effect. I have also adjusted the trimpots to try out multiple voltage settings (confirmed with a multimeter), but this a little effect (except to lower the intensity of the hum or movement the motors make). I currently have the voltage set to about .23 volts. These motors are under no load.
THINGS THAT DO WORK:
The heating elements both work and the thermistors are reading temperatures.
The stop motors on pronterface generally works, but sometimes I have to reset the board to get the motors to stop spinning.
As a side question, I was not able to fit a bed thermistor through the hole in the middle of the headed bed. I purchased another thermistor (my original broke trying to fit it in the hole), but currently just have it taped to the glass on top of the bed. How was I supposed to mount the original thermistor?
