Alright, so I'm completely new when it comes to RepRap, so I'm trying to get the hang of this. There have been so many different configurations and 100 different BOMs I'm seeing, but I'm fairly sure I've bought the right mechanical stuff.
I'm looking at electrical stuff now, and I'm a bit lost.
I've just bought this set with the Arduino / RAMPS / end stops / drivers, so I'm assuming they should all work together, right? I'm gonna need my stepper motors next... I don't know the slightest when it comes to Watts, Amps, Voltage, what works with what, etc. I'll need 5 NEMA17s, that have a 5mm shaft (which I'm assuming in universal for NEMA17s?), but that's all I know about the motors.
I'm hoping to get the MK3 Aluminum Heatbed, and power it with 24V. I'm assuming that's possible with the aforementioned supplies? I've bought these thermistors to go along with the heatbed, which I assume would work.
NOW, for connecting the heatbed and thermistor to the RAMPS, I'll need some heavier duty cabling, in order to handle the heat, correct? What kind of cabling are we talking here? Measured in gauges, right? As well for connecting those cables to the RAMPS (including the motors), how abouts do I do that? To my understanding, the RAMPS has pins, but these are bare wires, which to the best of my knowledge, should not just be simply wrapped around the pin.
FINALLY, what kind of power supply will I need for this whole getup?
I apologize fr this flurry of questions here. I'm a smart guy, but electricity always gets me at a loss, especially when I run the risk of frying something, or worse, burning my house down. You me need to hold my hand. But a HUGE thanks to anyone that does :)
