I'm new to building my own printer, I've had a Thing-o-matic for over a year now, and I want MOAR PRINT VOLUME!!
So I decided to build a new printer and print the parts for it. I've printed and built everything and it is 90% assembeled (aside from the heatbed, i need to get some aluminum and countersink it with some bolts to make it look nice)
I would like to start testing out all the electronics and get the motors running.
I have RAMPS 1.4 w/ arduino mega 2560 r3 and I've installed the new arduino board on my computer (win 7) port 6, and thats as far as I could follow on the plethora of documentation on the reprap wiki. I'm not quite sure how to get this functioning from here now. I have the 'working setup and files' for sprinter but I have no clue how to edit them or run them or use them in a real way aside from using text editor.
I've been using replicatorg 040 and it can connect to other machines, but I think I need to upload some firmware to the arduino and/or the ramps? I tried folowing the sanguino stuff but it tells me to type commands and run things and I don't know what it's talking about, the arduino environment can compile and upload, not run?
Anyway, I'm more mechanically inclined with some small programming background (aka 2 college classes c++ and java) so I'm not super savy in this department.
Any help here would be much appreciated, it has been a long project so far and would like to get this thing operational!
