I am using a MakerFarm Prusa i3. With an arduino 2560 and RAMPS 1.4. I recently moved my fan from the always on pin (12V AUX) on the RAMPS to D9. I changed my motherboard from 34 to 33 in configuration.h (in Marlin 1.0.0).
I can successfully turn on and off the fan in Pronterface using M106 and M107 commands. When I preheat using my printer's console, the fan turns on to speed 255.
Problem: When Cura or Pronterface is preheating the printer, the fan will not turn on, causing the printer to overshoot temperature and give me a MAXTEMP error. The "cool" settings in the expert/advanced settings are set to min fan of 50% and a max of 100%.
How do I get Cura or Pronterface to turn my fan on while preheating?
