Stepper do not work with Marlin-RC (2 replies)

I am in the process of setting up a 3d printer.

Electronics setup: MEGA 2560 + Ramps 1.4 + A4988 drivers + 2004 LCD
Stepper work perfectly with the test program from here
But when i upload the Marlin-RC the steppers just make sound and jerk but do not rotate.
The endstops are open (tested with M119), so they are not hindering the stepper functionality.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.
