Replace Gen6 by Ramps (no replies)

I seem to have fried my Gen6 board (2012) on my Orca v04x.

As the replacement from mendel-parts will cost me approx 300 euro, I consider replacing the board by ramps on Arduino.

Not being the software guy, I think that is an viable option.

Any comments or notes why I should not make this upgrade ?
